Reduced power consumption during signal blocking in wireless receivers: Wireless receivers listen on multiple channels. The presence of multiple-channel interference gives an adverse condition for IC filters. The amplitude of blocking signal determines the required dynamic range of the filters. Since the amplitude of blocking signals is time varying, it is considered that conventional filters operate within an excessive dynamic available range for a significant portion of their operating time, and consume more power.
Signal blocking power usage reduced in wireless receivers: The technology uses a dynamically biased circuit which allows the filter to reduce the average power consumption by controlling the instantaneous range of the filter depending on the input signal.
