Mammalian-Origin Rapamycin-FKBP12 Binding Proteins
Novel Rapamycin-FKBP12 binding proteins of mammalian origin, methods for isolating these proteins and therapeutic uses related to the proteins are described.
Human Cellular Material Contacted with Affinity Reagent
The method for the synthesis of an isolated polypepide with a molecular weight of about 210 kDa comprises using a sample of human cellular material and preparing an extract of the cellular material comprising cell membrane proteins. The extract is contacted with an affinity reagent comprising a complex of rapamycin and FKBP12.
The method is useful for the identification, design and synthesis of immunomodulatory, anti-restenosis or anti-tumor agents, as well as fragments of the proteins and the DNA, cDNA, antisense RNA and DNA segments corresponding to the proteins.
