MIMO with OFDM Communication for Wireless Systems:
In the last few years multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communication has received much attention to guarantee high data rate over the multipath Rayleigh fading channel. At the same time orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has attracted an increasing interest for its robustness against frequency-selective fading and for its flexibility in modern communication systems. For these reasons, MIMO with OFDM is considered a natural choice to achieve the high spectral efficiency demanded by next generation wireless systems.
MIMO with OFDM Power Control Strategy:
The invention is a novel efficient power control strategy designed for use in multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communications systems that employ orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme. The power control strategy is based on feedback generated by the receiver and used by the transmitter to select a proper transmitting energy level from a list of possible candidates to minimize the bit error rate of the system over each OFDM subcarrier. The system is implemented by using efficient 1-bit feedback control to minimize computational complexity and optimize the system performance over its long term use.
Applications:
• Next generation mobile wireless communications
Advantages:
• Fully functional in a fast fading scenario
• Can be used in multi-carrier system to update optimum energy level
• MIMO-OFDM systems are candidates for next generation mobile applications
