Software for accurately estimating the duration of infusion services

This technology is a software algorithm that calculates total treatment time for infusion services for a given patient’s prescription to improve scheduling efficiency in clinics and hospitals.

Unmet Need: Software for optimizing patient scheduling efficiency

Resources in hospitals and clinics are typically underutilized due to inefficient procedure scheduling, such as allotting standard blocks of time for different classes of appointments. Inaccurate estimation of total treatment or procedure times in clinics are a primary contributing factor to inefficient scheduling, which leads to significant wasted time, resources and impacts patient experience. However, despite the clear need for improved scheduling techniques, systems do not currently exist for streamlining infusion services scheduling in a personalized fashion.

The Technology: Tool for efficient infusion scheduling to minimize wasted time and resources

This technology is a software algorithm that accurately estimates the total time needed for an infusion appointment to enable accurate scheduling. This calculator takes into account the infusion time, all pre- and post-infusion procedures, as well as any complex treatment plans that involve administration of multiple agents or treatment types. Additionally, the software can be integrated into existing scheduling software systems, enabling improvement in efficiency without a drastic overhaul of existing scheduling infrastructure.

Applications:

  • Calculating time required for complex infusion services
  • Scheduling infusion services
  • Efficient scheduling of other routine outpatient services

Advantages:

  • Predicts treatment time based on specific patient requirements
  • Integrates into existing scheduling software
  • Allows for non-medical professionals to efficiently schedule clinical procedures
  • Facilitates accurate patient expectations and ease of care for patients
  • Improves hospital scheduling efficiency
  • Improves use of clinical resources
