This technology is a tablet-based software that provides an efficient method for diagnosing and guiding treatment for a myriad of mental health disorders.
Approximately one in ten people in the world have a mental health disorder, and in the U.S., nearly half of all adults will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, with five percent of American adults experiencing mental illness in any one year. In developing regions, access to medical care for mental health disorders is rare and often cost-prohibitive. Even in developed regions, these conditions are often misdiagnosed, and there is an emphasis on testing for the most common disorders, such as depression and anxiety. There is a need for an accurate, efficient diagnostic method that can facilitate more widespread and rapid treatment of mental health disorders.
This technology is a tablet-based software that provides an efficient method for diagnosing a myriad of mental health disorders, including suicide risk, depression/anxiety/PTSD, and substance use disorders. It relies upon a series of twelve questions: the first three questions determine if a patient requires psychiatric care, and the subsequent nine questions determine a specific treatment recommendation. This technology has the potential to expand access to appropriate mental health care, particularly in low-resource or emergency environments, as well as expedite treatment planning for high-risk patients
