Provider Co-Management Index (PCMI)

The PCMI is a brief survey instrument to measure how well health care workforce cohesively co-manage patients and care delivery tasks in health care settings. Studies have demonstrated high validity and reliability of the instrument to measure co-management between two people. PCMI is used in research and clinical settings globally.

• Identifier of personal or professional relationship problems
• Identifier of potential bias in treatment advice or patient care
• Administrative or Research tool to study clinician coordination of patient care needs
• Training tool for co-managing clinicians
• Instrument to enhance communication between clinicians

There are presently four versions of the PCMI that target specific disciplines or professional dyads. At present, all forms are available in English.

Licensing Information

Permission to administer any version of PCMI in research or clinical settings is granted though a one-time project-specific license based on the number of administrations.

Minimum purchase of 50 is required.

A downloadable PDF file will be provided upon purchase and will permit the user to administer PCMI as an electronic or paper and pencil format up to the quantity purchased. Each PCMI version is available separately and requires a separate license purchase. Subsequent administration will require additional purchase.
