This technology is a modeling approach that uses Electronic Health Record (EHR) data to characterize clinical behaviors that can be used to prioritize clinician concerns and identify high-risk patients. Electronic Health Records (EHRs) contain valuable patient information, including demographics, medications, diagnoses, and the recommendations and concerns of clinicians and nurses. Streamlining the use of EHR data to inform clinical practice has the potential to improve hospital efficiency and patient health management.

Family health history plays an important role in clinical healthcare for determining a patient likelihood to develop certain diseases. This technology enables the automatic retrieval of family medical history by querying electronic health records of known relatives and creating a family tree. This technology increases effectiveness of patient care through rapid, autonomous identification of family medical history from electronic health records.
